Andy is a musician, composer, songwriter, music supervisor/ director/ producer, and—most importantly now—the creator, co-owner, CEO and CCO of “Future Hits.”

He has that rare, versatile ability to create music and sound to picture, script, and library for TV, film, Internet, advertising, and musical theater…for commercial and broadcast usages…. for other singers and recording artists… and for himself as a singer/songwriter/producer and recording artist.

All of these talents combine to uniquely qualify him to lead the Future Hits team into the future itself—and in the process, to achieve their goal of re-inventing the production music library in the digital age.

Andy’s credits from a full-time career in the music business support this.  He’s won thirteen Emmy awards—most recently, two for the PBS docu-drama “Voices in Conflict,” and an unsurpassed three in the Outstanding Original Song category.  The others are for his original scores as a composer, his audio-post sound design and production, and his work as a music director/supervisor in the category of Music Direction and Composition for dramatic productions.  He’s composed original and sync’ed licensed music for dozens of TV broadcasters and media clients, including ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, Fox, ESPN, MTV, NBA-TV, HBO, Disney, Discovery, Reader’s Digest, WSOF, Marvel, AT&T and more.   He spent 15 years at ABC’s “All My Children” as a staff music director/composer--and leading contributor to five Emmys, as a member of the distinguished AMC music composing/directing team.  Prior to that, he worked in a similar capacity for the daytime drama "Guiding Light," and as the music supervisor for the "Cosby" sitcom, co-composing with Mr. Cosby himself.  Iconic artists as diverse as Nashville legend, Don Williams, and South African Nobel Peace Prize winner, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, have recorded A.J.’s music.  His own recordings have been released by PolyGram Records, as a compilation of greatest TV hits called "Love On The Air"; as a songbook/CD of the same name by Cherry Lane Music; and as the indie album "Collection", for which the late great rock DJ Pete Fornatale referred to Andy as “a hidden treasure.”  Spirit Music has administered Gundell’s song, scoring, and recording catalog for the last 14 years.

A.J. worked for several years as Composer/Executive Music Producer at Tonic, a state of the art audio-post and music house.  There, he created the Tonic Song Library—and honed his skills for creating and developing an exceptional boutique indie music library.  That endeavor led to an ongoing affiliation with the great independent music publisher Spirit Music as TSL’s administrator and co-publisher, and an impressive run that enabled TSL to place over a thousand cuts in the visual media.  All of that history, and the relationships that have been built and time-tested through the years, are now combining to provide the foundation for “Future Hits”—a music library committed to delivering the full range of publishing opportunities and revenue streams to its world-class roster of songwriter/composers, and the utmost in client services, music supervision, and A&R to its high-end licensees in the major media TV/film/advertising/new media industries.

The result is one of the vibiest, most exceptional collections of independent music available… proud to be administered and represented by Opus 1  Music... the fastest growing production music library in the world.... “The Greatest Songs You Never Heard":  Future Hits.
